Rabies Alert for zip code 33177

Pet owners urged to vaccinate against rabies
The Health Department has confirmed this week that a bat in the zip code area 33177 tested positive for the rabies virus. Citizens seeking information regarding rabies can call the Miami-Dade County's Health Department at 305 324-2400.

 
33177 is Larry & Penny Thompson Park/ Robert Morgan Educational Center area

Here in PA, all pets are required to have their rabies vaccines.  For horses, it is strongly recommended.  I always vaccinate for rabies every year.  You never know what animal your pets and horses will meet up with.  It's a shame there are those that choose to ignore it.

oooh Janie, I missed this on the news.  Oh yeah, it's because I don't watch the news.  LOL  thank goodness my friends fill me in.  I didn't know we had bats here!
